Oral and Maxillofacial surgery is a specialty of Dentistry which includes the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions (mouth and jaws).
Doctors trained in this specialty have had extensive exposure in both the medical and dental aspects of treatment in the maxillofacial region. Because management of many problems involving this region requires a strong understanding of form, function and occlusion oral and maxillofacial surgeons are uniquely qualified to treat problems in this area.

Dr. Wells performs orthognathic surgery and reconstructive surgery to correct congenital deformities and mouth and jaw malformations. In addition, he provides state of the art dental implantology services as well as facial trauma management and extractions.
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon he treats jaw tumors, pain and dysfunction associated with the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and certain types of facial pain. State of the art arthroscopic surgery is also available for TMJ dysfunction sufferers who do not respond to more conservative therapies.
Free booklets are available in the office which explain these conditions and treatments.
